Barbados is a picturesque island located on the edge of the Caribbean that is famous for its pristine, colour-intensive waters, the depths of which we have encapsulated in Barba Dos Tres hybrid lacquer. The saturated blue nail shade is perfect for a classic glossy finish or an ultra-matte look. The creamy texture minimizes the risk of streaks and the possibility of cuticle flooding.

Features:

  • Collections: Summer 2024
  • Soluble in remover: yes
  • Sticky film: present
  • Consistency: creamy
  • Colour: blue
  • Shade: saturated blue
  • Coverage level: 88%

Pros:

  • base and colour in one
  • medium consistency allows to even out imperfections of the plate and to build up
  • also allows for an interesting effect thanks to the different sized hexagons it contains

Pro tip:

Cover the surface of the plate with a thin layer of base coat and then on top of the uncured base coat, add a second slightly thicker one, concentrating the product in the centre of the plate and thus creating the upper nail arch. Additionally, you can even out the surface of the base coat with a thin brush such as Master Nail Art 007 or turn your hand to use gravity to shape the upper nail arch. Cure all in a MultiLed lamp, extending the curing time to 60 sec.

Application notes:

Over-base:

  • For the base to give a beautiful effect, apply a thin layer over the entire nail plate and do not harden!
  • Then scoop more product and build up the nail with a thicker layer.

Overbuilding the plate:

  • Wash and disinfect your and your client's hands. Put on gloves. Assess the client's hand and nail condition to ensure there are no contraindications to the treatment.
  • Push back cuticles with a hoof or stick and work them out with cutters, e.g. 9, 1.
  • Shape nails using a 180/240 or 100/180 grit file.
  • Use a 100/180 grit buffer to roughen the nail plate thoroughly.
  • Remove dust with a soft brush.
  • Thoroughly degrease the plate with a dust-free swab and Cleaner No. 1.
  • Apply the appropriate primer (Acid Free Primer or Acid Primer).
  • Apply a thin layer of Mineral Base Effect UV LED and do not cure. Apply a second, slightly thicker layer, concentrating the product in the centre of the nail to gently build up the nail. You can further even out the surface of the base coat with a thin brush such as Master Nail Art 007 or turn your hand to use gravity to shape the upper nail arch. Cure the styling again. Due to the thicker product layer the curing time can be extended to 60 seconds in a MultiLed lamp.
  • Secure the nail design with a top coat such as Tip Top or Wet Look and place your hands in the lamp again for 30-60 seconds.
  • Wait a minimum of 60 seconds for the top to cool down.
  • If you have chosen a top with a sticky layer*, remove it with a cotton swab soaked in Shea Super Shine Effect Cleaner 3.
  • To add even more shine to your nails, you can polish with a dry cotton ball at the end.

*A top coat without a sticky layer does not need to be wiped with Shea Super Shine Effect Cleaner No. 3. After waiting a minimum of 1 minute, you can apply your chosen Shea Elixir with keratin to the nail shafts.
